![Sterilisation Solutions 3M™ Attest™ Mini Auto-reader 490M System* Quick Reference Guide BI Preparation and Use for Tabletop Sterilisers 10 mins 1 Assemble PCD Create a Process Challenge Device (PCD)by placing a BI** and a chemical integrator in representative packaging. 2 Place Place PCD in a full load in the location recommended by steriliser manufacturer. 3 Process 4 Cool 3 Inspect 4 Incubate Run sterilisation cycle. After completion of cycle, retrieve PCD, remove BI and allow BI to cool 10 minutes prior to activation. BI Activation and Incubation 1 Crush Squeeze BI in activator to close cap and crush media ampoule. 2 Flick Remove BI and flick wrist to ensure media flows to growth chamber. Verify media has transferred to BI growth chamber at the vial bottom. Place activated BI in any well. Display shows remaining minutes of incubation or test results. DO NOT REMOVE BI until the (+) or (-) symbol indicates the test is complete. The control BI should be from the same lot code as the processed BI. Results After Incubation If the color bar crosses into the ACCEPT region, it is considered a pass. If the color bar is in the REJECT region or on the line, it is considered a fail.
