A WORD FROM ATHERTON This manual contains important information on the proper use and maintenance of this equipment. All operators and department heads are urged to carefully review and become familiar with the warnings, cautions and instructions contained herein. A thorough preventative maintenance programme is essential for safe and assured operation. You are encouraged to contact the ATHERTON Service Manager in your state concerning our preventative maintenance contracts. The Atherton range of equipment is designed and manufactured in general accordance with applicable Standards Association of Australia codes and relevant statutory requirements in all states. Due to the continuous programme of research and development conducted by ATHERTON, all design details are subject to change without notice. Important:

YOUR WARRANTY COVER
All equipment manufactured and work performed by the Company is warranted to be of good material throughout, and of good careful workmanship. The Company undertakes to correct and make good any defect or defects which may develop under normal and proper use within the warranty period, which are due to workmanship, provided that the Company is notified immediately after the defect is discovered. The warranty period is twelve months and shall be from the date delivery is made, or notification to the client that delivery can be made. The Company’s liability is limited as provided in these conditions and does not extend to consequential damage, either direct or indirect, that may be caused by any malfunction of the equipment, or to any expense for repair or replacement otherwise paid or incurred without the authority of the Company. The Company does not accept liability or responsibility for the defects or depreciation caused by wear and tear, accidents, lightning, corrosion, neglect, misuse, incorrect installation not carried out by the Company’s personnel or nominees of the Company, incorrectly maintained, incorrect operation or other abnormal conditions. Should field service be required, costs incurred in traveling to and from location of equipment, including traveling time, transportation and accommodation costs, and freight charges of sending replacement parts to and from a nominated Atherton office, are borne by the buyer. All field service will be carried out during normal working hours. If warranty service is requested outside normal working hours such work will be charged at the ruling overtime rates. Requests for replacement parts or components under warranty must be accompanied with a purchase order for the replacement part or component at the ruling spare parts price cost. The defective part or component must be retuned to the Atherton office handling the warranty claim complete with details of serial number, catalogue or model number or some means of verifying the unit and its delivery date. After receipt and inspection of the defective part or component the Company shall decide at its sole discretion whether a warranty claim applies. If the claim is granted a credit will be issued for the replacement amount previously charged. Material and equipment not manufactured by the Company are sold under such warranty only as the makers give the Company and the Company is able without legal expense to enforce, but are not guaranteed by the Company in any way. The warranty and warranty period does not cover such articles which are considered to be expendable, including but not limited to, gaskets, filters, bellows, globes, gauges, electrical components.

INSTALLATION
A detailed drawing showing all the utility and space requirements for the installation of the equipment was sent to the purchaser after the order for this cabinet was received.
Details of clearance space and service requirements will be found under the technical data sheet for the model in question. The clearances requested are necessary for easy installation, proper operation and maintenance of the equipment. If you are not in possession of these documents, and require them, you can order additional copies from the ATHERTON office in your state, giving the serial number and model number of the equipment.
If you are in any doubt as to the correctness of the installation, you are strongly advised to contact your ATHERTON office, as incorrect installation and/or commissioning can invalidate your warranty.
Installation and commissioning should only be carried out by fully qualified personnel, familiar with installing this type of equipment. Ignorance or carelessness can cause death.

INSTALLATION CHECK LIST a) Isolation switch for maintenance purposes to be installed near equipment (by others) b) After removing cabinet from pallet, tilt back or lay cabinet down. Screw adjustable legs into threaded plates. (See figure 1.1, page 7). c) Plug in power lead d) On built-in models, place cabinet in opening i. Check that cabinet is level ii. Screw fix cabinet inside top panel and seal hole with plastic plug supplied (See figure 1.2, page 7) e) SWC 3 & SWC 4 - Fit 4 grid shelves with small side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to top section of cabinet (heated section). Fit 3 grid shelves with large side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to bottom section of cabinet (storage section). Refer to page 9 for recommended shelf spacing. f) BWC 3 & BWC 4 - Fit 5 grid shelves with large side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8). Refer to page 10 for recommended shelf spacing. g) CWC 3 & CWC 4 - Fit 4 grid shelves with small side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to top section of cabinet (heated solution section). Fit 3 grid shelves with large side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to bottom section of cabinet (heated blanket section). Refer to page 11 for recommended shelf spacing. h) BWC 5 & BWC 6 - Fit 3 grid shelves with large side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to cabinet. Refer to page 12 for recommended shelf spacing. i) SWC 7 & SWC 8 - Fit 4 grid shelves with small side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to cabinet. Refer to page 13 for recommended shelf spacing. j) BWC 7 & BWC 8 - Fit 2 grid shelves with large side rails (as shown in figure 1.3, page 8) to cabinet. Refer to page 13 for recommended shelf spacing.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1
SOLUTION WARMING SECTION STEP 1:
Load solutions onto shelves and close door
STEP 2:
Set thermostat to desired operating temperature. To prevent scalding from liquids, an over temperature thermostat has been fitted to the cabinet and set at 55ºC. Do not turn the thermostat knob past 50ºC.
STEP 3:
Turn the power switch to the “ON” position.
In the event of overtemperature: 1. The overtemperature set point is factory set at 55ºC 2. Set thermostat knob at 50ºC 3. In the event of overtemperature condition, a red light will illuminate. 4. Open door – when overtemperature condition no longer exists, the red light will extinguish. 5. Close door and resume normal operation. 3.2
BLANKET WARMING SECTION STEP 1:
Load blankets onto shelves and close the door.
STEP 2:
Set thermostat to desired operating temperature. To prevent overheating of blankets, an over temperature thermostat has been fitted to the cabinet and set at 55ºC. Do not turn the thermostat knob past 50ºC.
STEP 3:
Turn power switch to the “ON” position.
In the event of overtemperature: 1. The overtemperature set point is factory set at 55ºC 2. Set thermostat knob at 50ºC 3. In the event of overtemperature condition, a red light will illuminate. 4. Open door – when overtemperature condition no longer exists, the red light will extinguish. 5. Close door and resume normal operation. It is recommended to leave the cabinets operating 24 hours a day.

MAINTENANCE The following procedure should be followed at regular intervals as indicated. 1. DAILY Allow unit to cool, and then clean the internal and external surfaces of the unit using a damp cloth with mild detergent solution. 2. QUARTERLY The safety, performance and reliability of your equipment cannot be assured unless regular maintenance is performed, preferably by accredited Technicians. We invite you to return to Atherton for all your service needs both during and after the warranty period. Failure to have proper maintenance services carried out will void your warranty. If correct maintenance guidelines are followed, you may look forward to many years of reliable service from your equipment. The following lists the minimum items that are to be checked/maintained on a quarterly basis. • Make a visual check to ensure electrical controls and indicating lights are operating correctly. • Silicone spray door gasket hinge side to prevent binding. • Carry out thermocouple testing. 3. HALF YEARLY Have an electrician check insulation resistance, earthing, terminals, connections and elements.

TROUBLESHOOTING
This section describes the types of unit malfunction likely to occur and indicates probable causes.
If you are unable to correct the problem, contact the Atherton service manager in your state.
Always shut off electrical power to the unit at the isolating switch before attempting any repair work on electrical components.
