Atlan family Breathing System Disassembly/Assembly
Disassembly Prerequisite: Remove accessories (CO2 absorber, filter, breathing hoses, etc.) Configuration with insp. O2 sensor
Turn the three light green levers counterclockwise. Remove the breathing system vertically upwards.
Turn the sealing cap counterclockwise and plug it into the holder.
Insert the O2 sensor into the sensor port and turn it clockwise.
Place the sensor cap on the O2 sensor. Turn the knurled nut about 90° clockwise.
Seal the O2 sensor port with the sealing cap. Turn it clockwise.
Insert the breathing system vertically onto the breathing system mount. Turn the three light green levers clockwise.
Unscrew the CLIC adapter.
Insert the cleaning disk into the adapter. Close the adapter so that it engages.
Insert the piston diaphragm. Make sure that the Dräger inscription on the base is visible.
Screw the CLIC adapter to the lower part of the breathing system.
Remove the cleaning disk from the adapter. Close the adapter so that it engages.
Place the upper part of the breathing system on the lower part.
Unscrew the APL valve.
Reattach the APL valve and tighten it with the knurled nut.
Remove the valves (yellow and blue)
Unscrew the inspiratory/ expiratory ports and remove the flow sensors.
Align the valves correctly. Insert the valves.
Insert the flow sensors and tighten the inspiratory/ expiratory ports.
Turn the three grey levers counterclockwise. Lift off the upper part of the breathing system.
Remove piston diaphragm from the ventilator.
Turn the black valve counterclockwise and remove it.

Atlan family Breathing System Reprocessing Instruction
Machine cleaning and disinfection
Sterilization, max.137° ** (optional, if needed)
Disinfection by immersion
For machine cleaning, position each valve as shown.
Image includes the O2 sensor cap (down right). The sensor cap exists only when configured with inspiratory O2 sensor.
Position components so that all interior spaces and surfaces are completely flushed and water can drain off freely. * For details regarding the reprocessing of the flow sensors please follow the infomation in the associated instructions for use. ** Sterilization and other additional reprocessing procedures have not been tested by Dräger with regard to their effectiveness. However, the materials of the components, shown in the illustration permit a steam sterilization up to a maximum of 137 °C (278.6 °F)
If required, remove any residues on the valve plates with a soft cloth. If the incident flow grills are damaged, contact DrägerService®. D-5734-2018
The following parts must be free of deposits: – incident flow meshes – valve plates (black, blue and yellow)
This guideline does not replace the instruction for use.
