Bedienung Das Gerät verfügt über einen Farbbildschirm mit einer berührungsempfindlichen Glasoberfläche, über die Eingaben vorgenommen werden (Touchscreen).

Operation The device is equipped with a color touch screen, which can be used to make changes and input values.

Manejo El aparato dispone de una pantalla a color con una superficie de vidrio sensible al tacto, a través de la cual se pueden realizar los ingresos (pantalla táctil).

Zur Grundausrüstung gehört ein 4-Pedalfußschalter. Zwei Pedale werden für die Steuerung der Druck- und Fluss-Überhöhungen eingesetzt, über die anderen beiden Pedale kann ein angeschlossener Shaver betrieben werden. Für das Einlegen und Entfernen der Schläuche sind die beiden Pumpenbetten mit jeweils einem drehbaren Spannhebel ausgestattet, über den der Anwender das Pumpenbett öffnet und schließt. Durch den in Pumprichtung am Ausgang der Spülpumpe befindlichen Drucksensor wird bei aufgesetzter und verriegelter Druckmesskammer| der Spüldruck kontinuierlich erfasst. Ohne diese Druckerfassung und ohne verriegelten Pumpenhebel ist die ARTHROPUMP® POWER nicht startbereit.

The basic equipment includes a 4-pedal footswitch. Two pedals are used to control pressure and flow setpoint increases, the other two can be used to operate a connected shaver. To aid the insertion and removal of tubes, both pump beds are fitted with one rotatable tensioning lever each, with which the user can open and close the pump bed. When the pressure measuring chamber is locked in place, the irrigation pressure is continually registered by the pressure sensor, which is located in the pump direction at the outlet of the irrigation pump. The ARTHROPUMP® POWER will not be ready for operation unless the pressure measurement has been set up and the pump lever is locked.

El equipamiento básico incluye un interruptor de 4 pedales. Dos de los pedales se utilizan para controlar los aumentos de presión y flujo; por medio de los otros dos pedales se puede manipular un Shaver conectado. Para la colocación y la extracción de los tubos flexibles, ambos fondos de la bomba están equipados con una palanca tensora giratoria cada uno, por medio de la cual el usuario abre y cierra el fondo de la bomba. Mediante el sensor de presión ubicado en el sentido de bombeo a la salida de la bomba de irrigación se capta de forma continua la presión de irrigación, en caso de estar montada y enclavada una cámara de medición de la presión . Sin este registro de la presión y sin palanca de la bomba enclavada, la ARTHROPUMP® POWER no está dispuesta para el servicio.

Die Anwendung der ARTHROPUMP® POWER ist nicht auf ein gewisses Patientenprofil (Geschlecht, Alter, Gewicht etc.) beschränkt. Der Gesundheitszustand für den endoskopischen Eingriff ist vom behandelnden Arzt zu beurteilen und für geeignet zu erklären.

The use of the ARTHROPUMP® POWER is not limited to a certain patient profile (sex, age, weight, etc.). The attending physician must assess a patient’s health with regard to the endoscopic intervention and declare it adequate.

La aplicación de la ARTHROPUMP® POWER no está limitada a pacientes que presenten un perfil determinado (sexo, edad, peso, etc.). El estado de salud para la intervención endoscópica ha de ser evaluado por el médico tratante, quien debe declarar si es apropiada al efecto.

Das Einsatzgebiet ist auf bestimmte Gelenke (Fuß, Knie, Hüften, Schulter, Arm, Hand ohne Finger) eingeschränkt. Der Zugang erfolgt durch chirurgisch invasive Öffnungen. Der Zustand des Einsatzgebietes muss für den endoskopischen Einsatz geeignet sein.

The area of application is limited to certain joints (feet, knees, hips, shoulders, arms, hands excluding fingers). The joints are accessed via surgically invasive openings. The area of application must be in a condition suitable for the endoscopic intervention.

Das Gerät darf nur in medizinisch genutzten Räumen benutzt werden, deren elektrische Anlagen nach den national gültigen Vorschriften installiert sind. Das Gerät ist mit einer Steckvorrichtung für den Potentialausgleich ausgerüstet. Diese nach Maßgabe der national gültigen Vorschriften anschließen. WARNUNG: Das Gerät darf nicht in sauerstoffangereicherter Umgebung eingesetzt werden. Es ist nicht für den Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen bestimmt. Dies bedeutet u. a.: Bei Verwendung von leicht brennbaren und explosionsfähigen Inhalations-Anästhesiemitteln und deren Gemischen darf das Gerät nicht in der dargestellten Gefahrenzone betrieben werden. Dieses gilt auch für leicht brennbare und explosionsfähige Chemikalien, z. B. Hautdesinfektions- und Flächenschnelldesinfektionsmittel.

WARNING: The device must not be used in oxygenated environments. It is not intended for use in hazardous zones. This means, for example: When using easily combustible and explosive inhalation anesthetics or mixtures thereof, the device must not be operated in the demarcated hazard zone. Dies schließt die Verlaufskontrolle des Behandlungsvorgangs, die Überwachung der Vitalwerte und der Narkose mit ein. WARNUNG: Jeder Behandlungsvorgang darf nur durchgeführt werden, wenn die visuelle Beobachtung der Gerätewirkung sichergestellt ist.

It is the user’s responsibility to make sure the device is safe and operating properly before using the device. During treatment with the ARTHROPUMP® POWER, the patient must be treated and kept under observation with the usual medical care. This includes keeping a check on the progress of treatment, as well as monitoring the vital levels and the anesthetic.

El usuario debe cerciorarse de la seguridad de funcionamiento y el buen estado del equipo antes de cada aplicación del aparato. Bei lang anhaltender Überdrucksituation warnt die ARTHROPUMP® POWER den Anwender (Meldung 52, siehe S. 71) und bricht die Aktivierung ab. Die zugrunde liegende Druck/Zeit - Kurve ist links dargestellt.

If overpressure is maintained for a long period, the ARTHROPUMP® POWER warns the user (message 52, see p. 71) and interrupts the activation. The pressure/time curve which forms the basis is depicted on the left.

En el caso de una sobrepresión prolongada, la ARTHROPUMP® POWER advierte de la situación al usuario (mensaje 52, véase la pág. 71) e interrumpe la activación. La curva existente de presión/tiempo está representada a la izquierda.

The green area is the permissible area. When the pressure enters the red, non-permissible area, the message appears and the pump is deactivated.

After deactivation has taken place, the pump can be activated again on the authority of the attending physician. The automatic pressure monitoring restarts at zero.

Después de la desactivación mencionada, la bomba puede volver a activarse bajo responsabilidad del médico tratante. El control automático de la presión arranca de nuevo desde cero.

HINWEIS: Wenn die Pumpe durch die automatische Drucküberwachung deaktiviert wurde und der Überdruck nicht durch eine Leckage abgebaut wird, kann durch Öffnen des Verriegelungshebels der Spülpumpe eine Druckentlastung erreicht werden.

NOTE: If the pump was deactivated by the automatic pressure monitoring and the overpressure was not reduced through leakage, the locking lever for the irrigation pump can be opened to release the pressure.

Bei der Verwendung von Tagesschlauchsets startet bei einem Patientenwechsel auch bei eingeschaltetem Gerät die Drücküberwachung wieder bei Null. Dafür ist die Erkennung des Patientenwechsels notwendig. Dieser wird bei Vorliegen der folgenden Bedingungen angenommen: • Deaktivierung der Pumpe für mindestens 2|Minuten und • Absinken des gemessenen Drucks auf weniger als 25mmHg in dieser Zeit

When one-day tubing sets are used, pressure monitoring restarts at zero with every patient changeover, even when the unit is switched on. It is therefore necessary to make the patient changeover known. This is done by establishing the following conditions: • deactivation of the pump for at least 2 minutes and • reducing the measured pressure to less than 25|mmHg during this time period.

Al utilizar un set de tubos flexibles de un día de uso, en caso de un cambio de paciente, el control de la presión también arranca nuevamente desde cero estando el aparato conectado. Para ello es necesario que se reconozca el cambio de paciente. Connecting the power cable Connect the power cable when the device is switched off. Insert the power cable into the power cable receptacle { as far as it will go. Only operate the device at the line voltage stated on the manufacturer’s identification plate.

Connecting the SCB cable (optional) In order to use this function, insert one end of the SCB cable (both ends are identical) into the connection socket O on the ARTHROPUMP® POWER. Connect the other end to an available SCB connection socket on a device in the existing SCB network or a device with which you wish to establish a ‘network’. NOTE: To prevent the SCB connection cable from being pulled out accidentally, the SCB connector possesses a protection device. Pull back the protection device of the SCB connector and insert the connector into one of the SCB connection sockets O. Connect the other end of the cable to the KARL STORZ SCB (KARL STORZ Communication Bus) control device or other SCB devices (see ‘SCB System’ instruction manual).

Procedure list • First the list of the available procedures appears. This list contains the procedures predefined in the factory when the device is delivered. These can neither be edited nor deleted. • The predefined procedures have ascending numbers, starting with 100. • However, you can also define your own procedures (using the predefined procedures as templates). Animation The animation shows in which order the tubing set should be inserted. The animation runs in an endless loop. This menu is closed when the device detects that: • the irrigation and suction pump levers have been opened and closed and the pressure measurement chamber on the sensor has been adapted (Continuous Flow Mode); • the irrigation pump lever has been opened and closed and the pressure measurement chamber on the sensor has been adapted (Single Flow Mode).

Unlocking the irrigation pump WARNING: Do not touch the pump reels  when the pump is active (even if it is not moving). An activated pump may start moving at any time. Danger of crushing and/or of clothes (or hair) getting pulled into the device. Unlock the irrigation pump by turning the lever clockwise as far as it will go. As soon as the lever is actuated, the pump cannot be activated any more.

One-day tubing sets If the unit is cleared for use with one-day tubing sets (procedure see page 50), the steps for inserting the pump tubing set 031261-01 must be performed as described on page 22. The separately packed patient tube 031162-01 is first connected with the sheath and then with the irrigation tube via the coupler.

WARNING: The tube outlets should not rest on table tops, etc., (they should hang loosely) as they will otherwise subject the Ypiece to pressure from below, which could cause the Y-piece to detach itself from the tube squeeze valve if vibrations occur.

NOTE: Before you activate the pump, make sure that the tubing sets have been inserted properly and that the pressure measuring chamber (see the bottom of p. 22) is correctly positioned.

Preparation Before the instrument is inserted, the irrigation tubing set must be primed with fluid. To do this, open the irrigation valve on the sheath and the blue tube clamp in front of the irrigation bag. Then start the pump with the button . The irrigation pump will now prime with irrigation fluid and transport this to the instrument. As soon as the irrigation fluid escapes from the shaft and air bubbles have been removed from the tubing set, the irrigation valve on the sheath may be closed. (Continued on the next page)

Funktion/Zweck Die Anzeige ist in 3 Bereiche eingeteilt: den Kopfund Fußbereich sowie die Hauptanzeige. Der Kopfund Fußbereich enthält jeweils Standardelemente, die in allen Ebenen sichtbar sind. Je nach Kontext können sich diese aber in Darstellung oder Funktion (z.B. Button inaktiv) unterscheiden.

Function/use The display is divided into 3 areas: the header and footer as well as the content area. The header and footer each contain standard components, which are visible on all levels. Depending on the context, they may differ in appearance or function (e.g., deactivated button).

Función/finalidad La indicación está dividida en 3 sectores: El sector de encabezamiento y de pie de página, así como la indicación principal. El sector de encabezamiento y de pie de página contienen respectivamente elementos estándar, que son visibles en todos los niveles. Según el contexto, los mismos pueden diferenciarse entre presentación o función (p. ej., Botón inactivo).

Buttons (Orange)  Einstellungen: Beim Betätigen dieses Buttons wird das “Basismenü Einstellungen” (siehe S. 44) aufgerufen.  Audioalarm aus/ein (Rastfunktion) mit Zustandsanzeige. Beim Betätigen dieses Buttons wird die akustische Alarmierung ein-/ausgeschaltet. Der Zustand `AUDIO AUS` bleibt solange erhalten, bis der Anwender diese Funktion wieder deaktiviert oder das Gerät aus- und wieder eingeschaltet wird.  Füllstandsüberwachung. Beim Betätigen dieses Buttons wird das Menü “Füllstandsüberwachung“ aufgerufen, aber nur dann, wenn diese Funktion im Menü “Erweiterte Einstellungen” (S. 48) aktiviert wurde. Das Menü “Erweiterte Einstellungen” erreichen Sie über den Button   Prozedurliste. In diesem Menü wird eine Liste von Prozeduren für die Arthroskopie angezeigt. Im Auslieferungszustand werden nur Prozeduren angezeigt, die im Werk vordefiniert wurden, z.B. „Shoulder Arthroscopy Beach Chair“..

Buttons (orange)  Settings: This button calls up the basic ‘Settings’ menu (see p. 44).  Audio alarm on/off (locking function) with status display. When this button is pressed, the acoustic alarm is switched on/off. The status ‘AUDIO OFF’ remains active until the user deactivates the function again or the device is switched off and on again.  Fluid Supply Monitor. When this button is pressed, the menu ‘Fluid Supply Monitor’ is called up, but only if this function has been activated in the menu ‘Extended settings’ (p. 48). The menu ‘Extended settings’ can be opened using the button .  Procedure List. This menu displays a list of procedures for arthroscopy. When delivered, the only procedures shown are those which were predefined in the factory, e.g., ‘Shoulder Arthroscopy Beach Chair’.

Botones (naranja)  Ajustes: Al accionar este botón se abre el menú básico “Ajustes” (véase la pág. 44).  Alarma acústica encendida/apagada (función de encastre) con indicación de estado. Al accionar este botón se conecta/desconecta la alarma acústica. El estado “AUDIO DESCONECTADO” permanece activado hasta que el usuario desactiva esta función o se desconecta y se vuelve a conectar el aparato.  Control del suministro de fluidos. Al accionar este botón se abre el menú “Control del suministro de fluidos”, pero sólo si esta función ha sido activada en el menú “Configuración avanzada” (pág. 48). El menú “Configuración avanzada” se alcanza a través del botón .  Lista de procedimientos. En este menú aparece indicada una lista de procedimientos para artroscopia. En el estado de suministro solamente aparecen indicados los procedimientos predefinidos de fábrica, como p. ej. “Shoulder Arthroscopy Beach Chair”.
