Das Steuergerät Power Unit S1 auf ebene Fläche stellen.

Das Steuergerät Power Unit S1 ist mit einer Steckvorrichtung  für den Potentialausgleich ausgerüstet. Lassen Sie die Erdung ggf. durch sachkundiges Personal durchführen.

The Power Unit S1 is equipped with a connector  for attaching a ground line. The unit’s ground line should be installed by a qualified electrician.

EI Power Unit S1 está provisto de una conexión equipotencial . Es recomendable que la conexión a tierra sea efectuada por un técnico experto en la materia.

Das Steuergerät Power Unit S1 nur mit der auf dem Typenschild angegebenen Spannung betreiben.

The Power Unit S1 may only be operated at the line voltage stated on the manufacturer's identification plate.

Insert the power cord into the unit’s power cord receptacle , pushing the cord’s mating connector firmly home.

Hinweis: Um ein versehentliches Herausziehen des SCB-Verbindungskabels zu verhindern, besitzt der SCB-Stecker eine Schutzvorrichtung. Die Schutzvorrichtung des SCB-Steckers zurückziehen und den Stecker in eine der SCBBuchsen
einstecken. Das andere Ende des Kabels mit einem KARL STORZ-SCB-Steuergerät (KARL STORZ Communication Bus) oder weiteren SCB-Geräten verbinden (siehe hierzu Gebrauchsanweisung KARL STORZ-SCB® System).

Note: To avoid mistakenly pulling out the SCB connecting cable, the SCB connector possesses a protection device. Pull back the protection device of the SCB connector and insert the connector into one of the SCB sockets
. Connect the other end of the cable to the KARL STORZ-SCB (KARL STORZ Communication Bus) control unit or other SCB units (see KARL STORZ-SCB® System Instruction Manual).

Nota: Con el fin de evitar extraer inadvertidamente el cable de conexión SCB, el enchufe SCB está provisto de un dispositivo protector. Retire hacia atrás el dispositivo protector del enchufe SCB e introduzca el enchufe en uno de los conectores SCB

Gewähltes Shaver-Blade (siehe Zubehör) in die Instrumenten-Aufnahme des Handstücks eindrücken, bis das Shaver-Blade einrastet.

Press the selected shaver blade (see Accessoires) into the instrument holder on the handle until the shaver blade clicks into place.

Presione el bisturí para Shaver seleccionado en el alojamiento para instrumentos de la pieza manual, hasta que el bisturí para Shaver encastre.

Das Shaver-Blade wird gelöst, indem man den Entriegelungsknopf drückt und gleichzeitig dazu das Shaver-Blade nach vorne herauszieht.

Release the shaver blade by pressing the unlock button and simultaneously pulling the shaver blade out toward the front.

Join the suction tube to the tube connection cn on the shaver handle and connect to a suction pump.

Mit dem Kipphebel wird die Absaugleistung geregelt. Befindet sich der Kipphebel am hinteren Anschlag, so erreicht man minimale Absaugung, am vorderen Anschlag erreicht man maximale Absaugung.

Suction is controlled using the rocker lever . If the rocker lever is at the rear limit stop, minimum suction is provided, at the front limit stop, maximum suction.

– Drehzahlregelung – Die Drehzahl kann entweder digital oder analog gesteuert werden.

- Speed control The speed can either be controlled in a digital or analog manner.

- Regulación del número de revoluciones El mando del número de revoluciones puede efectuarse de forma digital o analógica.

Digitale Steuerung (0/I) bedeutet: 0 = Aus; I = volle Drehzahl

Digital control (0/I) means: 0 = OFF; I = full speed.

Analoge Steuerung (–/+) bedeutet: Die Drehzahl ist stufenlos regelbar innerhalb des vorgewählten Drehzahlbereiches (Gaspedalfunktion).

Analog control (–/+) means: The speed can be controlled infinitely within the preselected speed range (gas pedal function).

Mando digital (0/I) significa: 0 = desconectado; I = número completo de revoluciones Mando analógico (–/+) significa: El número de revoluciones es regulable sin escalonamientos dentro del margen de revoluciones preseleccionado (función de pedal de gas).

Die Taste  zum Wählen der gewünschten Steuerungsart drücken. Das aktive Symbol wird umrahmt dargestellt.

Press the key  to select the required control type. The activated symbol is shown outlined.

Hinweis: Vier programmierbare Drehzahlspeicher je Blade-Klasse sind zum Speichern von Drehzahlobergrenzen verfügbar (M1 bis M4). Die Wahltaste Drehzahlspeicher  oder den Taster cq auf dem Doppelpedalfußschalter so oft drücken, bis der gewünschte Drehzahlspeicher (M1 bis M4) im Display erscheint.

Note: Four programmable speed memories for each blade category are available for storing upper speed limits (M1 to M4). Press the speed memory selector key  or the push button cq on the dual-pedal footswitch continuously until the required speed memory (M1 to M4) appears in the display.

Mit den ± Tasten  kann die obere Drehzahlgrenze verändert werden. Die max. Drehzahl ist abhängig vom Handstück und von der Blade-Klasse (siehe Tabelle auf S. 3).

With the ± keys , the upper speed limit can be changed. The max. speed is dependent on the handle and the blade category (see table on p. 3).

Nota: Se dispone de cuatro memorias del número de revoluciones programables por cada clase de bisturí, con el fin de memorizar los valores límites de revoluciones (M1 hasta M4). Pulse el selector de memoria de revoluciones  ó el pulsador cq en el interruptor de doble pedal tantas veces como sea necesario hasta que aparezca en el display la memoria deseada de revoluciones (M1 hasta M4).

Modificar el número superior de revoluciones Por medio de las teclas ±  puede modificarse el valor límite superior del número de revoluciones. El número máximo de revoluciones depende de la pieza manual y de la clase de bisturí (véase tabla pág. 3).

Betriebsart Oszillation

Oscillation mode

In der Betriebsart Oszillation werden Drehrichtungswechsel durchgeführt. Die Oszillationsfrequenz ist beim mitgelieferten Doppelpedal-Fußschalter 2 0 0128 30 fest (1,2 Hz). Die Drehzahl kann nur während des Betriebs verändert werden. Dazu die ± Tasten  betätigen. Hinweis: Der zuletzt eingestellte Wert bleibt auch nach Ausschalten des Gerätes gespeichert. Eine zusätzliche Betätigung der Speichertaste  ist hierzu nicht notwendig.

In the oscillation mode the direction of rotation is changed. With the supplied dual-pedal footswitch 2 0 0128 30 the oscillation frequency is fixed (1.2 Hz). The speed can be changed only during operation. To do so, press the ± buttons . Note: The value last set remains stored when the control unit is switched off. It is not necessary to press store key .

The LCD display shows: • The current selected speed (the bar display shows full deflection up to the mark), i.e. the shaver oscillates at 1,900 rpm. • The 2 arrows on the right and left of the userdefined maximum speed of 1,900 rpm indicate shaver oscillation.

El display digital de LC indica: • El número de revoluciones seleccionado actualmente (el indicador de barras muestra una desviación máxima hasta la marcación), es decir, el Shaver oscila con 1.900 rpm. • Las 2 puntas de flecha, a la derecha y a la izquierda del número máximo de revoluciones de 1.900 rpm definido por el usuario indican la oscilación del Shaver.

Die Anzeigeform des LCD-Displays kann von ,Normaldarstellung‘ (S/W, d. h. schwarze Schrift auf hellem Hintergrund) auf Inversdarstellung (W/S, d. h. weiße Schrift auf dunklem Hintergrund) umgeschaltet werden.

The type of LCD display can be changed from ‘Normal’ (B&W, i.e. black characters on a light background) to ‘Inverted’ (W&B, i.e. white characters on a dark background).

Modificar la forma de indicación del display digital de LC

En el modo de funcionamiento por oscilación se efectúan cambios de sentido de la rotación. La frecuencia de oscilación (1,2 Hz) está fijada en el interruptor de doble pedal 20 0128 30. El número de revoluciones puede modificarse solamente durante el funcionamiento. Para ello, pulse las teclas ± . Nota: El valor ajustado en último lugar permanece memorizado incluso después de desconectar la unidad. No es necesario activar adicionalmente la tecla de memorización .

La forma de indicación del display digital de LC puede ser conmutada de la “representación normal” (negro/blanco, es decir, escritura negra sobre fondo claro) a la representación inversa (blanco/negro, es decir, escritura blanca sobre fondo oscuro).

Dazu den Umschalter auf der Rückseite des Gerätes in die entsprechende Position schieben (S/W oben).

To do this, push the switch on the back of the unit into the up or down position (up for B&W).

Der Kontrast des LCD-Displays kann den persönlichen Wünschen angepasst werden. Dazu mit einem (Kreuzschlitz)-Schraubendreher an der (versenkten) Schraube  drehen.

The contrast of the LCD display can be adjusted to suit personal requirements. To do so, turn the (recessed) screw  using a (cross-point) screwdriver.

Remove the power fuse holder  with a screwdriver or other tool.

Caution: Only use fuses of the correct rating. Insert new fuses of the appropriate rating.

Das Gerät ist mit 2 Sicherungsautomaten F1 und F2 ausgerüstet, durch welche die Motorendstufen abgesichert sind. Ggf. Sicherungsautomat nach Auslösen* wieder eindrücken. Bei wiederholtem Auslösen Handstück wechseln bzw. Service verständigen. * Im Display erscheint ,F1‘ bzw. ,F2‘. Siehe auch Fehlersuchliste S. 29.

The unit is equipped with 2 automatic cutouts, F1 and F2, by which the motor power stages are fuse protected. If necessary, reset (press in) the automatic cutout once it has been released*. If it is released again, exchange the handle or notify the Service Department. * F1 or F2 appears on the display. See also Troubleshooting on p. 29.

El aparato está equipado con 2 fusibles automáticos F1 y F2, a través de los cuales se aseguran las etapas finales del motor. Nota: Hay que tener en cuenta la Instrucción “Limpieza, esterilización y conservación de los instrumentos KARL STORZ”. Allí se explican detalladamente los procedimientos para limpieza, desinfección y esterilización.

Vorsicht: Bei der Herstellung und Anwendung der Lösungen sind die Angaben des Herstellers über Mischungsverhältnis oder Einlegedauer genauestens zu beachten. Zu langes Einlegen kann zu Korrosion führen.

Caution: Follow solution manufacturer’s instructions paying close attention to proper dilution and recommended minimum exposure times. Prolonged exposure may result in tarnishing or corrosion.

Die Behälter sind so in den Sterilisator zu stellen, dass eine ausreichende Dampfzirkulation und -durchdringung gegeben ist, sowie die Luft entweichen und das Kondensat abfließen kann. Den Sterilisator entsprechend dessen Gebrauchsanweisung beladen. Nach Beendigung der Dampfsterilisation müssen die sterilisierten Teile langsam abkühlen.

Sterilization trays should be positioned in the sterilizer so that there is adequate circulation and penetration of steam, air removal and condensate drainage. Load the sterilizer according to its instruction manual. At the completion of the steam sterilization cycle, all instruments must be allowed to cool down slowly.

Las bandejas deben colocarse en el esterilizador de modo que haya una adecuada circulación y penetración de vapor, supresión de aire y drenaje de condensado. Wartungsdienste können bei Ihrer zuständigen Gebietsvertretung oder beim Hersteller erfragt werden. Unabhängig von den in den verschiedenen Ländern vorgeschriebenen Unfallverhütungsvorschriften oder Prüfungsintervallen für Medizingeräte empfehlen wir eine Funktions- oder Sicherheitsüberprüfung des Gerätes mindestens einmal im Jahr. Detaillierte Hinweise entnehmen Sie bitte der jeweils gültigen Version des Service Manuals, Bestellnummer SV 3441 (englische Version).

Preventive maintenance is not essential. Regular maintenance can, however, contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, thus enhancing the instrument’s reliability and extending its useful operating life. Maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical instruments prescribed in different countries, we recommend a functional or safety test of the unit at least once a year. For detailed instructions please refer to the version of the Service Manual currently valid, catalog number SV 3441 (English version).
