Bei Patienten mit Herzschrittmachern oder anderen aktiven Implantaten besteht die Gefahr von Störungen oder Beschädigungen. Holen Sie im Zweifelsfall fachlichen Rat bei KARL STORZ ein. VORSICHT: Instrumente mit HF-Anschluss sind in Kombination mit HF-Geräten für eine wiederkehrende Spitzenspannung von max. 600 Vp vorgesehen und eignen sich nur für kurzzeitige Koagulationen von kleineren Blutungen. Eine Anwendung mit Geräteeinstellungen über 600 Vp kann zur Beschädigung des Instruments führen (gemäß IEC 60601-2-2, 3rd Edition).

Instruments and all of the accessories used in combination with them must be checked immediately before and after every use to ensure that they are complete, free from damage, and in full working order and have no unintentional rough surfaces, sharp corners, burred edges or projecting parts. Care must be taken not to leave missing or brokenoff components inside the patient. WARNING: Risk of injury: Overloading the instrument by exerting too much force may cause the medical device to break, bend, and malfunction, and consequently injure the patient or user. Do not overload the instruments. Do not bend bent instruments back to their original positions. WARNING: Risk of injury: Incorrect application of medical instruments poses a risk of injury for patients. Users of medical instruments must have an appropriate medical qualification and be acquainted with the application. WARNING: Risk of injury and risk of damaging the products: Sparks may be produced when HF devices and accessories are used. These can cause combustible or flammable liquids to ignite or explode. Make sure that combustible or flammable agents have evaporated before using HF instruments and that no flammable gases are present. WARNING: Risk of injury: The electromagnetic interference fields generated during the use of HF surgery can impair the functioning of other electronic devices. In the case of patients with cardiac pacemakers or other active implants, there is the risk of disturbance or damage. If in doubt, seek expert advice from KARL STORZ. CAUTION: Instruments with HF connection used in combination with HF devices are intended for a recurring voltage of max. 600 Vp and are only suitable for the short-term coagulation of small hemorrhages. Usage with device settings of over 600 Vp can lead to damage to the instrument (in accordance with IEC 60601-2-2, 3rd Edition).

Vorbereitung der Reinigung und Desinfektion

Instrumente zur Koagulation sollten während der Anwendung zwischendurch an den Koagulationsoberflächen abgewischt werden, z. B. mit einer feuchten Kompresse getränkt mit einer 3 %igen H2O2-Lösung (Wasserstoffperoxid-Lösung). Grobe Verunreinigungen, korrosive Lösungen und Arzneimittel müssen unmittelbar nach der Anwendung vom Medizinprodukt entfernt werden. Dazu das Medizinprodukt beispielsweise durch Wischen und Spülen vorreinigen. Grundsätzlich empfiehlt KARL STORZ eine manuelle Vorreinigung unter fließend kaltem Wasser.

Preparation for cleaning and disinfection

The coagulation surfaces of coagulation instruments should be wiped down from time to time during use e.g., with a surgical pad soaked in a 3 % H2O2 solution (hydrogen peroxide solution). Heavy soiling, corrosive solutions and pharmaceuticals must be removed from the medical device immediately after use. To this end, preclean the medical device by wiping down and rinsing, for example. As a general rule, KARL STORZ recommends manual precleaning under cold running water.

Um eine effektive maschinelle Reinigung und Desinfektion zu gewährleisten, ist eine Konnektierung der Pinzetten mit Absauganschluss im ReinigungsDesinfektions-Gerät erforderlich. Das gereinigte und desinfizierte Medizinprodukt muss auf Reinheit, Vollständigkeit, Schäden und Trockenheit visuell geprüft werden: • Sind noch Verschmutzungen oder Rückstände vorhanden, muss das Medizinprodukt manuell nachgereinigt und erneut einem vollständigen Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsprozess unterzogen werden. • Beschädigte oder korrodierte Medizinprodukte müssen ausgesondert werden. • Anschließend muss eine Funktionskontrolle durchgeführt werden. The method must be selected taking into account the respective applicable national requirements and following consultation with the device manufacturers. The following sterilization methods have been validated and approved by KARL STORZ for this medical device: • Steam sterilization in the fractionated prevacuum procedure The medical device must be sterilized in its fully assembled state using a fractionated prevacuum procedure (ISO 17665-1) at 134 °C – 137 °C with a minimum exposure time of 4 minutes and maximum of 18 minutes.
