Selbstprüfung

Die Selbstprüfung wird bei jedem Einschalten des Geräts durchgeführt. Fällt der Test negativ aus, so kann das Gerät nicht gestartet werden. Das Gerät gibt 2 Töne aus, die alle 20 Sekunden wiederholt werden. Auf der Anzeige 햳 erscheint ein Fehlercode (siehe Fehlersuchliste, Seite 43).

Self-check

A self-check procedure is performed each time the unit is switched on. If the test is negative, it is not possible to start the unit. The unit emits 2 beeps, which are repeated every 20 seconds. An error code will appear on the display 햳 (see Troubleshooting, page 43).

HINWEIS: Um ein versehentliches Herausziehen des SCB-Verbindungskabels zu verhindern, besitzt der SCB-Stecker eine Schutzvorrichtung. Die Schutzvorrichtung des SCB-Steckers zurückziehen und den Stecker in eine der SCB-Buchsen P einstecken. KARL STORZ SCB NOTE: To avoid mistakenly pulling out the SCB connecting cable, the SCB connector possesses a protection device.

Pull back the protection device of the SCB connector and insert the connector into one of the SCB sockets P. Connect the other end of the cable to the KARL STORZ SCB (KARL STORZ Communication Bus) control unit or other SCB units (see KARL STORZ SCB System Instruction Manual).

The inflow tube of the silicone tubing set for irrigation is equipped with a puncturing pin and a tube clamp. Close the tube clamp. Insert the puncturing pin into the irrigation-liquid bag.

Using the ENDOMAT® LC as a suction pump

• Variante A – indirekte Absaugung (Absaugung über Saugflasche) Wenn sich feste Bestandteile in der abgesaugten Flüssigkeit befinden z. B. Steinkonkremente (Urologie) oder Knochensplitter (Arthroskopie), so besteht ein gewisses Risiko der Perforation des Pumpenkopfschlauches. Hier ist es angebracht einen Saugflasche (siehe Zubehör) zwischen Sauginstrument und ENDOMAT® LC zu schalten.

• Alternative A – indirect suction (suction via suction bottle) When there are solid components in the suctioned liquid such as stone concretions (urology) or bone fragments (arthroscopy), there is a risk of perforating the pump head tubing. In this case, it is recommended to connect a suction bottle (see accessories) between the suction instrument and the ENDOMAT® LC.

VORSICHT: Wenn sich feste Bestandteile in der abgesaugten Flüssigkeit beƂnden, kann der Pumpenkopfschlauch perforiert und der ENDOMAT ® LC kontaminiert werden. CAUTION: When there are solid components in the suctioned liquid, the pump head tubing can be perforated and the ENDOMAT ® LC can be contaminated. The suction bottle (KARL STORZ 1.5 l or 5 l suction bottle, see accessories) must therefore be equipped with the metal filter 20300038.

Utilización de la ENDOMAT® LC como bomba de succión • Variante A – succión indirecta (succión a través de una botella de succión) Si en el líquido succionado se encuentran componentes duros tales como, p. ej., concrementos de piedra (urología) o astillas de hueso (artroscopia), existe entonces un cierto riesgo de perforación del tubo flexible del cabezal de la bomba. En este caso, es recomendable conectar una botella de succión (véase Accesorios) entre el instrumento de succión y la ENDOMAT® LC. ADVERTENCIA: Si en el líquido succionado se encuentran componentes duros, el tubo ƃexible del cabezal de la bomba puede ser perforado y la ENDOMAT® LC resultar contaminada. La botella de succión utilizada (botella de succión de 1,5 l ó 5 l de KARL STORZ, véase Accesorios) ha de estar provista por ello con el filtro metálico 20300038.

Screw the metal filter 20 3000 38 (see accessories) onto the cap. For tightening, use a wrench – size 15 mm.

Saugflasche mit Wasser füllen. Verschlusskappe auf Saugflasche aufsetzen. HINWEIS: Durch Füllen der Saugƃasche mit Wasser wird das Luftvolumen der Saugƃasche verkleinert. Dies hat erstens den Vorteil, dass bei Starten der Absaugung am ENDOMAT® LC Flüssigkeit schneller angesaugt wird (kleineres Totvolumen). Zweitens wird praktisch keine Flüssigkeit nachgesaugt, wenn die Absaugung am ENDOMAT® LC gestoppt wird.

Fill the suction bottle with water. Place the cap onto the suction bottle. NOTE: When the suction bottle is Ƃlled with water, the air volume of the suction bottle is reduced. One advantage of this is that the liquid is suctioned faster on starting suction on the ENDOMAT® LC (smaller dead volume). A second advantage is that almost no ƃuid will be suctioned after the suction on the ENDOMAT® LC has been stopped.

Llene la botella de succión con agua. Coloque la tapa de cierre en la botella de succión. NOTA: Llenando la botella de succión con agua se reduce el volumen de aire de dicha botella. WARNUNG: Der falsche Zusammenbau des Schlauchsets und die Nichtbeachtung der Hinweise zur Funktionsprüfung können zu schwerwiegenden Schädigungen des Patienten führen. Schlauchset in den Pumpenkopf einlegen und mit dem Hebel verriegeln. HINWEIS: Beachten Sie den Beipackzettel »Schlauchset CALCUSON für ENDOMAT ® LC (Art.-Nr.: 96136319 DF)«.

For combined operation, use the reusable Tubing Set 20 3303 42. Correct assembly following disassembly for cleaning and disinfection is described in the section “Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization” starting on page 33 and in section “Preparing the tubing set” starting on page 19. WARNING: Improper assembly of the tubing sets or failure to observe the notes regarding the test for proper operation may result in serious injury to the patient.

Den vom Ultraschallwandler kommenden Absaugschlauch an den zweiten, geriffelten Stutzen anschließen.

Zur Erleichterung ist das Schlauchset über den Ultraschallwandler und die angeschlossene Sonde kurz vor dem Eingriff durch Ansaugen von steriler Spüllösung aus einer sterilen Schale zu entlüften. Dazu den ENDOMAT® LC am Netzschalter einschalten und mit der START/STOP-Taste Y die Pumpe starten und nach erfolgter Schlauchentlüftung stoppen.

To relieve pressure, the tubing set should be vented via the ultrasonic transducer and the connected probe by suctioning sterile irrigation solution from a sterile tray just before the intervention. To do this, switch on the ENDOMAT® LC using the power switch. Press the START/STOP button Y to start the pump, and stop it once the tube has been vented.

Poco antes de la intervención hay que desairear el set de tubos flexibles con el fin de aligerarlo. Para ello, a partir de un recipiente esterilizado hay que succionar una solución estéril para irrigación a través del transductor de ultrasonidos y de la sonda conectada. Para ello, conecte la ENDOMAT® LC con el interruptor de la red y con la tecla de CONEXION/ DESCONEXION Y (véase la flecha), ponga en marcha la bomba y deténgala después de haber realizado el desaireamiento de los tubos flexibles.

Block off the suction tube (instrument tube) with your finger and check whether a vacuum is created. WARNING: If there are any substantial deviations from these results, the unit must be inspected by an authorized technician before further use.
