Das Gerät verfügt über Selbsttest-Routinen, die das System laufend überwachen. Wenn eine Fehlerbedingung entdeckt wird: • wird auf den LED-Anzeigen eine Fehlermeldung ausgegeben (z. B. E|04 – Fußschalter gedrückt beim Einschalten) • wird ein Warnton ausgegeben • wird die Laserstrahlung des Systems gestoppt oder reduziert, um die Sicherheit für den Anwender und den Patienten zu gewährleisten und eine Beschädigung des Gerätes zu verhindern.

The unit is equipped with a self-check routine that continuously monitors system operation. If a fault condition is detected: • The LED displays issue a fault message (e.g. E|04 – footswitch pressed when turned on). • The audible indicator emits an alarm signal. • The system ceases or reduces laser emission to ensure user and patient safety and to prevent damage to the unit.

Sollte die Lieferung Anlass zur Reklamation geben, so wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an den Hersteller oder Lieferanten. Wenn möglich die Originalverpackung für spätere Verwendung aufheben; diese kann benutzt werden, wenn das Gerät transportiert werden muss.

Carefully remove the unit and its accessories from their packaging. Check for missing items and evidence of shipping damage. File any complaints with the manufacturer or supplier immediately. If possible, retain the original packing materials for later use; these can be used if the unit has to be transported.

CAUTION: The initial installation of CALCULASE|II may only be carried out by qualiƂed service personnel. To ensure safe operation, CALCULASE|II should be Ƃlled with cooling water and an ion Ƃlter should be installed. Zur zusätzlichen Sicherheit ist der CALCULASE|II mit einer Anschlussmöglichkeit für eine Fernunterbrechung der Laserstrahlung ausgestattet. Über diesen Anschluss y wird ein externer Schalter angeschlossen, der eine Fernunterbrechung ermöglicht. Der externe Schalter wird z. B. an der Eingangstür zum Operationssaal angeschlossen, so dass beim Öffnen der Tür der Laserstrahl unterbrochen, das Gerät in den Standby-Modus zurückgesetzt und die Fehlermeldung I ausgegeben wird. Um den Betrieb wieder aufzunehmen, muss der externe Schaltkontakt geschlossen und anschließend das Gerät erneut in den Bereit-Zustand (READY, grüne LED O leuchtet) geschaltet werden. Statt dem Schalter kann die Fernunterbrechungsbrücke (27 7501 26) eingesteckt werden.

For added protection the CALCULASE|II is equipped with a connection for remotely interrupting laser emissions. An external switch is connected to this outlet y, which enables remote interlocking. The external switch is connected e.g. to the door of the operating room, so that when the door opens the laser beam is interrupted, the unit returns to standby mode and the error message I is issued. To resume operation, the external switch contact must be closed and then the unit turned to ready mode once again (green LED O lights up). The remote interlock jumper (27 7501 26) can be inserted instead of the switch.

Pull back the safety device on the SCB connector and insert the connector into one of the sockets|u. Connect the other end of the cable to a KARL|STORZ SCB control unit (KARL|STORZ Communication Bus) or other SCB devices (see the instruction manual for the KARL|STORZ SCB System in relation to this).

Der CALCULASE|II ist mit einer Fasererkennung ausgestattet. Je nach verwendeter Faser wird eine zulässige Frequenz / Energie-Kombination bereitgestellt, aus der der Anwender die entsprechende Leistung wählen kann (siehe auch S.|23).

The CALCULASE|II is equipped with a fiber recognition system. A permissible frequency/ energy combination is provided depending on the fiber used, from which the user can select the corresponding capacity (see also p. 23).
