The unit is equipped with a connector ⑩ for attaching a ground line. The unit’s ground line should be installed by a qualied electrician.

Netzsicherungshalter ⑪ entnehmen und Spannungswahlmodul herausnehmen. Das Spannungswahlmodul so in den Netzsicherungshalter einschieben, dass die im Sichtfenster an der Rückseite des Netzsicherungshalters angezeigte Netzspannung mit der lokalen Spannungsversorgung übereinstimmt. Darauf achten, dass die eingesetzten Sicherungen für die gewählte Netzspannung geeignet sind.

Remove the power fuse holder ⑪ and take out the voltage selection module. Insert the voltage selection module into the power fuse holder in such a way that the system voltage displayed in the viewing window on the back of the power fuse holder corresponds to the local power supply. Make certain that the safety fuses which are used are appropriate for the selected system voltage.

Retire el portafusibles ⑪ y extraiga el módulo de selección de la tensión. Introduzca el módulo de selección de la tensión en el portafusibles, de modo que la tensión de la red indicada en la mirilla situada en la parte posterior del portafusibles coincida con el suministro local de corriente. Als dritte Möglichkeit kann ein Kompressorsystem zur Druckluftzufuhr verwendet werden. Wir empfehlen dazu das Kompressorsystem 20 0310 01 (siehe Zubehör). Der Ausgangsdruck ist am Kompressorsystem so zu regulieren, dass er 5 bar nicht überschreitet. Die entsprechenden Bedienungshinweise entnehmen Sie bitte der dem Kompressor beiliegenden Gebrauchsanweisung.

The third possibility of supplying compressed air is to use a compressor system. In such a case we recommend the compressor system 200310 01 (see accessories). Output pressure must be regulated on the compressor system so that it cannot exceed 5 bar. For appropriate operating instructions please refer to the instruction manual enclosed with the compressor.

Como tercera posibilidad puede utilizarse un sistema de compresores para la alimentación de aire comprimido. Para ello, recomendamos el sistema de compresores 20 0310 01 (véase accesorios). La presión de salida en el sistema de compresores hay que regularla de modo que no sobrepase los 5 bar. Las instrucciones correspondientes de manejo rogamos verlas en las Instrucciones de Manejo anexas al compresor.

Warning: Observe the CALCUSPLIT® instruction manual! Warning: Never connect the pressure tube of the CALCUSPLIT® control unit to the suction nozzle handpiece (see image) or of any other instrument used. For handpieces with stopcock, the latter must be closed, i.e. the stopcock must point sideways.

Inserting wire probe into handpiece Screw the conical cap off the handpiece. Insert the preassembled wire probe with distally assembled silicone damper (see image) through the cap. Screw the cap back onto the handpiece and, at the same time, ensure that the proximal end of the wire probe passes into the hole of the handpiece.

Bei versehentlichem Auslösen eines Stoßes kann das Projektil beim Austreten aus dem Führungsrohr Verletzungen verursachen.

Attach the silicone tube to the connector of the handle all the way and connect the other end to the compressed air outlet on the CALCUSPLIT®. Warning: Danger of injury! Do not connect the handle to the control unit if the handle has not been completely assembled. In case of inadvertent triggering of a shock wave, the projectile can cause injury when it leaves the guiding tube.

Die Lithotripsie-Sonde wird jetzt durch den Arbeitskanal des Endoskopes geführt. Bei vollständig in den Adapter eingeführtem Handstück sollte die Sonde maximal 10 – 20 mm aus dem distalen Ende des Arbeitskanales herausragen.

The lithotripsy probe is now guided through the working channel of the endoscope. When the adapter is completely tted into the handle, the probe should extend a maximum of 10 – 20 mm past the distal end of the working channel.

La sonda para litotricia se introduce entonces a través del canal de trabajo del endoscopio. Si la pieza manual se ecuentra completamente introducida en el adaptador, la sonda debería sobresalir 10 – 20mm como máximo del extremo distal del canal de trabajo.

Warnung: Vor und nach jeder Anwendung müssen die verwendeten Lithotripsie-Massivsonden auf mögliche Beschädigungen, insbesondere Deformationen der Kragenkante, Grat- oder Spanbildung, geprüft werden. Werden Beschädigungen festgestellt, so darf die Sonde nicht weiterverwendet werden. Generell sind die LithotripsieMassivsonden mit Dämpfungselement bei Beschädigung oder nach maximal 5 Anwendungen auszutauschen.

Warning: Before and after each application the lithotripsy wire probes used must be inspected for possible damage, particularly deformation of the collar edge and any formation of burr or chips. If damage is found, the probe must not be used again. Generally speaking, the lithotripsy wire probes with silicone damper have to be changed after a maximum of 5 applications or after damage.

Cuidado: Antes y después de cada aplicación deben vericarse las sondas macizas de litotripsia utilizadas para comprobar si presentan deterioros, en particular deformaciones del reborde del cuello, o la formación de virutas o rebabas. Si se comprueba la existencia de deterioros, la sonda ya no debe seguir siendo utilizada. Por regla general, las sondas macizas de litotripsia con elemento amortiguador deben sustituirse en caso de deterioro o después de 5 aplicaciones como máximo.

Netzschalter ① einschalten.

Stärke der Druckluftpulse am Drehknopf ⑧ vorwählen. Der vorgewählte Wert wird am Manometer② angezeigt. Hinweis: Die Maximaleinstellung für die Druckluftstärke ist auf 2,0 bar begrenzt. Für die ordnungsgemäße Funktion ist ein Druck von mindestens 1 bar erforderlich.

Preselect the force of the compressed air pulses using the knob ⑧. The preselected value is displayed on the pressure gauge ②. Note: The maximum pressure setting for compressed air is limited to 2.0 bar. To guarantee normal operation a pressure of at least 1 bar is necessary.

Preseleccione la potencia de los impulsos de aire comprimido mediante el botón giratorio ⑧. El valor preseleccionado aparece indicado en el manómetro ②. Nota: La potencia máxima de aire comprimido está limitada a 2,0 bar. Para una función adecuada es necesario disponer de una presión de por lo menos 1 bar.

Mit der M-Taste ⑦ die gewünschte Frequenz der Druckluftpulse wählen. Je nach vorgewählter Frequenz leuchtet entweder die Anzeige ③ (Einzelschuss) oder die Anzeige ④ (Dauerschuss) auf. Hinweis: In der Betriebsart Dauerschuss werden ca. 12 Schüsse pro Sekunde abgegeben.

With the M button ⑦, select the desired frequency of the compressed air pulses. According to the preselected frequency, either Display ③ (singleshot) or Display ④ (continuous-shot) lights up. Note: In the continuous-shot operating mode, approx. 12 shots per second are emitted.

Seleccione la frecuencia deseada de los impulsos de aire comprimido utilizando la tecla M ⑦. Según la frecuencia preseleccionada se iluminará el indicador③ (impacto aislado), o bien el indicador ④ (impacto continuo). Nota: En el modo de servicio de impactos continuos se producen aprox. 12 impactos por segundo.

How to use

Die Lithotripsie-Sonde wird durch den Arbeitskanal eines starren Endoskopes an den zu zertrümmernden Stein herangeführt. Um eine Fragmentierung zu erreichen, muss die Sonde direkt auf den Stein aufgesetzt werden. Es ist von Vorteil, wenn der Stein während der Lithotripsie mit einem Steinfänger xiert wird.

The lithotripsy probe is guided through the working channel of a rigid endoscope to the stone which is to be crushed. In order to fragment the stone, the probe must be set directly upon it. It is advantageous to hold the stone fast with a grasping forceps during the procedure.

La sonda para litotricia se introduce a través del canal de trabajo de un endoscopio rígido hasta alcanzar el cálculo que debe ser triturado. Con el n de conseguir la fragmentación, es preciso posicionar la sonda directamente sobre el cálculo. Durante la litotricia, resulta ventajoso jar el cálculo con un extractor de cálculos.

Die Lithotripsie-Sonde sollte, wenn sie ganz eingeführt ist, maximal 10 bis 20 mm über das distale Ende des Arbeitskanals hinausragen. Dies erleichtert es dem Arzt, die Position der Sonde zu bestimmen, stellt eine ausreichende optische Kontrolle der Sondenspitze sicher und verringert die Gefahr einer möglichen Perforation durch unkontrollierte Bewegungen.

The lithotripsy probe should, when it is completely inserted, extend a maximum of 10 to 20 mm past the distal end of the working channel. This makes it easier for the physician to determine the position of the probe, guarantees sufcient visual control of the probe tip and reduces the danger of possible perforation due to uncontrolled movement.

Cuando la sonda para litotricia se encuentra completamente introducida, debería sobresalir de 10 a 20 mm como máximo del extremo distal del canal de trabajo. Esto le permite al médico determinar más fácilmente la posición de la sonda, garantizar un control visual suciente de la punta de la sonda y reducir el peligro de una posible perforación ocasionada por movimientos incontrolados.

Lithotripsie-Sonden mit geringem Durchmesser (0,8 mm) können auch in einen leicht gebogenen Arbeitskanal eingeführt werden. Dabei ist zu berücksichtigen, dass durch die Biegung der Sonde Energie verloren geht. Dieser Energieverlust kann jedoch praktisch immer durch eine Erhöhung der Stärke der Druckluftpulse kompensiert werden.

Lithotripsy probes with a small diameter (0.8 mm) can be inserted into a slightly curved working channel. However it must be taken into account that, in bending the probe, energy is lost. Nevertheless this energy loss can virtually always be compensated by an increase in the strength of the compressed air pulses.

Las sondas para litotricia de diámetro reducido (0,8 mm) pueden ser también introducidas en un canal de trabajo ligeramente curvado, teniendo en cuenta que la curvatura de la sonda causa una pérdida de energía. Tal pérdida, sin embargo, puede ser compensada prácticamente en todos los casos a través de un aumento de la potencia de los impulsos de aire comprimido.

Obwohl die Sonde nur eine stumpfe Krafteinwirkung auf die Schleimhaut ausübt und keine Wärmeentwicklung zu befürchten ist, muss eine ständige Sichtkontrolle der Sondenspitze gewährleistet sein. Insbesondere bei kleinen Steinfragmenten ist mit erhöhter Vorsicht vorzugehen. Es empehlt sich, die Lithotripsie zu beenden, wenn die Steinfragmente eine Größe erreicht haben, die eine manuelle Extraktion ermöglichen oder einen Spontanabgang wahrscheinlich machen. Bei zunehmender Fragmentierung ist gegebenenfalls der Spüldruck soweit abzusenken, dass keine unerwünschten Bewegungen der Steinfragmente auftreten.

Although the probe only exerts a blunt force upon the mucuous membrane and there is no fear of heat development, constant visual control of the probe tip must be ensured. Particularly with small stone fragments, proceed with increased care. It is recommended that the lithotripsy be ended when the stone fragments have reached a size which facilitates manual extraction or makes natural passage probable. With increasing fragmentation, reduce the irrigation pressure as much as necessary, so that no unwanted movements of the calculus fragments occur.

Replacing the sealing rings or the lever set on the handle

Die 5 Dichtungsringe im Handstück müssen regelmäßig (nach ca. 30 Sterilisationen) ausgewechselt werden. Dazu muss das Handstück zerlegt werden. Bei diesem Vorgang ist der Übertragungshebel zu prüfen. Bei Anzeichen von Verschleiß ist das komplette Hebelset auszutauschen (siehe S. 22).

The ve sealing rings in the handle must be replaced regularly (after approx. 30 sterilizations). Todo this, the handle has to be disassembled. In performing this procedure the transmission lever must be examined. If there are any signs of wear the complete lever set has to be replaced (see page 22).

Eine vorbeugende Wartung ist nicht zwingend erforderlich. Regelmäßige Wartungen können aber dazu beitragen, eventuelle Störungen frühzeitig zu erkennen und so die Sicherheit und Lebensdauer des Gerätes erhöhen. Wartungsdienste können bei Ihrer zuständigen Gebietsvertretung oder beim Hersteller erfragt werden. Unabhängig von den in den verschiedenen Ländern vorgeschriebenen Unfallverhütungsvorschriften oder Prüfungsintervallen für Medizingeräte schreiben wir eine Sicherheitstechnische Kontrolle mindestens einmal jährlich vor.

Preventive maintenance is not essential. Regular maintenance can, however, contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, thus enhancing the instrument’s reliability and extending its useful operating life. Maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical devices prescribed in different countries, a safety check must be carried out on the unit at least once a year.

EI equipo no precisa forzosamente de mantenimiento preventivo. Werden bei den sicherheitstechnischen Kontrollen Mängel festgestellt, durch die Patienten, Personal oder Dritte gefährdet werden können, so darf das Gerät so lange nicht betrieben werden, bis diese Mängel durch fachgerechten technischen Service behoben sind.

KARL STORZ stipulates that safety checks must be carried out once a year, in order to prevent accidents due to aging, wear or failure of medical devices. If any defects or shortcomings which could endanger patients, operating personnel or others are ascertained during these safety checks, the unit must not be operated until such time as these defects or shortcomings have been eliminated by qualied technical servicing.

Als Hersteller dieses Gerätes betrachten wir uns für die Sicherheit, Zuverlässigkeit und Leistung des Gerätes nur dann als verantwortlich, wenn: • Montage, Erweiterung, Neueinstellungen, Änderungen oder Reparaturen durch von KARLSTORZ autorisierte Personen durchgeführt werden, • die elektrische Installation des Raumes, in dem das Gerät angeschlossen und betrieben wird, den gültigen Gesetzen und Normen entspricht und • das Gerät in Übereinstimmung mit der Gebrauchsanweisung verwendet wird.

KARLSTORZ shall be liable for the safe operation, operational reliability, and performance of this equipment only subject to the following conditions: • all assembly operations, system expansions, readjustments, modications, or repairs have been performed by a person or persons duly authorized by KARLSTORZ; • all electrical installations at the location in which the unit is connected and operated meet the applicable laws and standards; and • the unit has been used in accordance with its operating instructions at all times.

For a period of two years after delivery to the enduser, we shall replace free of charge equipment that can be proven to have defects in material or workmanship. In so doing we cannot accept to bear the cost of transportation or the risk of shipment. The warranty referred to in our Standard Conditions of Business shall apply. Opening the equipment or performance of any repairs or modications to the equipment by unauthorized persons shall relieve us of any liability for its performance. Any such opening, repair, or modication performed during the warranty period shall void all warranty.
