The Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD is a video camera for attaching to rigid and flexible endoscopes* as well as to microscopes. In the special PDD mode, it can be used with suitable marker substances, light sources (D-LIGHT C) and PDD/AF endoscopes for photodynamic diagnostic purposes. * To use the TRICAM® SL PDD C-mount camera head together with endoscopes, a special adaptor is required. Use of the unit in fields other than those indicated above is not allowed for safety reasons.

Das Gerät darf nur in medizinisch genutzten Räumen benutzt werden, die nach den national gültigen Normen installiert sind. Es ist nicht für den Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen bestimmt. Dies bedeutet u. a.: Bei Verwendung von leicht brennbaren und explosionsfähigen Inhalations-Anästhesiemitteln und deren Gemischen darf das Gerät nicht in der dargestellten Gefahrenzone betrieben werden. Solche Mittel sind zum Beispiel Ether pro narcosi (Diethylether, Cyclopropan) sowie brennbare, leicht verdampfbare Hautreinigungs- und Hautdesinfektionsmittel, die eine explosionsfähige Atmosphäre bilden können (z. B. Waschether, Ether petrolei). Das Gerät ist mit einer Steckvorrichtung für den Potentialausgleich ausgerüstet. Diese sollte nach Maßgabe der national gültigen Vorschriften angeschlossen werden.
The unit may only be used in medical rooms of which the installations conform to applicable national regulations. It is not intended for use in hazardous zones. This means, for example, that when using easily combustible and explosive inhalation anesthetics or mixtures thereof, the unit must not be operated inside the hazard zone shown in the diagram. Examples of such substances are: anesthetic ether (diethyl ether, cyclopropane) as well as combustible, volatile skin cleansers and skin disinfectants which may create an explosive atmosphere (e.g. detergent ether, petroleum ether). The unit is equipped with a connector for attaching a ground line. It should be connected up in accordance with national regulations.
El equipo sólo puede ser utilizado en espacios médicos si éstos han sido instalados de acuerdo con las normas nacionales de seguridad que estén vigentes. El equipo no está previsto para ser utilizado en zonas expuestas a posibles explosiones. Esto significa, entre otras cosas: Si se emplean productos anestésicos para inhalación fácilmente inflamables y explosivos o sus mezclas, no podrá utilizarse el equipo en las zonas calificadas como peligrosas por este motivo. Vor der Anwendung des Gerätes hat sich der Anwender von der Funktionssicherheit und dem ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des Gerätes zu überzeugen. Während der Behandlung unter Verwendung der Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD muss der Patient mit der üblichen medizinischen Sorgfalt behandelt und beobachtet werden. Dazu gehört insbesondere die Sorge um sterile Applikationsbedingungen, sofern die Art des Eingriffs dies erfordert.
It is the user’s responsibility to make sure the unit is safe and operates properly before using the unit. During treatment with the TRICAM® SL-PDD the patient must be treated and kept under observation with the usual medical care. This includes keeping a check on the progress of treatment, as well as monitoring sterile application conditions where required by the type of intervention.
El usuario debe cerciorarse de la seguridad de funcionamiento y el buen estado del aparato antes de cada aplicación. Durante el tratamiento con el empleo de la Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD, el paciente debe ser tratado y observado con los cuidados médicos habituales. Entnehmen Sie die Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD und das Zubehör vorsichtig der Verpackung. Überprüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf eventuelle Beschädigungen. Sollte die Lieferung Anlass zur Reklamation geben, so wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an den Hersteller oder Lieferanten. Wenn möglich, bewahren Sie die Originalverpackung auf, sie kann bei einem Transport des Gerätes nützlich sein.
Carefully unpack the Endovision TRICAM® SLPDD and remove the unit and its accessories from their packaging. Check for missing items and evidence of shipping damage. File any complaints with the manufacturer or supplier immediately. If possible, retain the original packing materials for later use; these can come in handy if the unit has to be transported.
Extraiga cuidadosamente la Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD y sus accesorios de la caja. Revise si el envío está completo y compruebe posibles averías de transporte. Operating the Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD
Puesta en marcha de la Endovision TRICAM® SL-PDD
Kamera-Kontrolleinheit (CCU) auf ebene Fläche stellen. Auf ausreichenden Seitenabstand zu anderen Geräten (insbesondere Hochfrequenz-Chirurgiegeräten) und Gegenständen achten. Gerät nur mit der auf dem Typenschild angegebenen Spannung betreiben.
Place the CCU on a level surface. Make sure there is sufficient distance on all sides to other instruments (especially high frequency surgical equipment) and objects. Only operate the unit with the line voltage stated on the manufacturer's identification plate.
Coloque la CCU sobre una superficie plana. Mantenga una distancia de separación lateral suficiente respecto a otros equipos (especialmente unidades quirúrgicas de AF) y objetos. Conecte a la red sólo con la tensión indicada en la placa de especificaciones.

Kamera-Kontrolleinheit mit Monitor verbinden. Je nach Anschlussmöglichkeit ihres Monitors können Sie die Verbindung herstellen über – RGB-Sync-Anschluss – Y/C-Anschluss oder – BNC-Anschluss .
Connect the camera control unit to the video monitor to be used. Depending upon the types of video input connectors provided on the video monitor, this connection can be generated using either the CCU’s – RGB/Sync receptacle – Y/C video receptacle , or its – BNC video receptacle .

Bei Verwendung der TRICAM® SL-PDD im Standard-Modus mit Standard-Lichtquelle: Wenn Zusatzgeräte wie z. B. ein Video-Recorder oder -Printer vom Kamerakopf oder Keyboard aus gesteuert werden sollen, so ist der Anschluss für die Fernbedienung am Zusatzgerät (Remote) mit den Buchsen Acc1 und/oder Acc2 an der Kamera-Kontrolleinheit zu verbinden (verwendbare Modelle auf Anfrage). Es wird empfohlen, zur Steuerung des VideoPrinters die Buchse Acc1 und für den -Recorder die Buchse Acc2 zu verwenden (siehe S. 40: „Hinweise zum Anschluss von Zusatzgeräten“).
When using the TRICAM® SL-PDD in the standard mode with a standard light source: If peripheral units such as a video recorder or printer are to be remotely controlled via camera or keyboard, the terminal for peripheral equipment remote control (Remote) must be connected up to sockets Acc1 and/or Acc2 on the camera control unit (suitable models upon request). It is recommended that the Acc1 socket be used to control the video printer, and the Acc2 socket be used to control the video recorder (see p. 40: “Connecting up peripheral units”).

Setting the Maximum Shutter Speed • Press and hold the blue and silver user buttons simultaneously to enter the Set Maximum Shutter Speed menu. • Press the silver user button for less than one second to scroll through the available exposure settings. To set the shutter speed, move the cursor next to the desired maximum exposure setting. • Press the blue user button for less than one second to change command state from Set Maximum Shutter Speed to exit. • Pressing both user buttons simultaneously again clears the display, discarding any changes that were made to the maximum shutter speed. • If in the Exit state, pressing the silver user button clears the display and sets the maximum shutter speed.

The white balance resets the camera system’s chrominance controls to conform to the color temperature of the light source in use. To perform this readjustment, switch on the light source to be used and point the camera and endoscope at a white surface (white sheet of paper, swab, or the like). Make certain that no colored objects are visible within the camera’s field of view.

In the white light auto exposure control, pressing the blue head button for longer than one second will activate the white balance function. As indicated in the section “White balance”, the power up default is white light auto exposure control. This is the only mode in which the white balance function is available.

If white balancing has not been performed correctly (too little or too much light) the message “White balance fail – dark” (field of view is too dark) or “White balance fail – bright” (field of view is too bright) will appear. The message “White balance failed” will appear if the color temperature exceeds the white balance range. If the white balance function does fail, lengthen or shorten the distance between the endoscope and the white surface and perform the white balance adjustment again.

The values of the last white balance remain stored even after the camera control unit has been switched off. When the camera is next used a new white balance only has to be performed if a light source with a different color temperature is used or if a light cable or endoscope with different diameter is used.

Hinweis: Dieser Modus unterstützt stroboskopische Anwendungen, bei denen 2 Lichtquellen intraoperativ eingesetzt werden. Hierzu muss die Funktionstaste 1 („blaue“ Funktionstaste) im Programmiermenü (siehe S. 33) entsprechend programmiert werden. Der „2 WB Modus“ kann nur aktiviert werden, wenn der Standard-Modus aktiv ist. Um den Weißabgleich für 2 Lichtquellen durchzuführen, wird zuerst die gewünschte Lichtquelle durch Drücken der blauen Funktionstaste ausgewählt. Es erscheint die Anzeige „Light 1 Setting“ oder „Light 2 Setting“ auf dem Monitor (je nach gewählter Lichtquelle). Note: This mode was developed to support stroboscopy needs where two light sources are used intraoperatively. To do this control button 1 (blue button) must be programmed appropriately using the program menu (see page 33). The “2 WB Mode” can only be activated in the Standard Mode. In order to white balance the two light sources, first select the desired light source by pressing the blue user button. An on-screen message will appear stating “Light 1 Setting” (or “Light 2 Setting” depending upon the light source selected). Then press user button 2 (silver button) to perform the white balance operation for the selected light source. Upon pressing button 2, an on-screen message will appear stating “White Balancing Light 1 Setting” (or “White Balancing Light 2 Setting” depending upon the light source selected). Both white balance settings will be stored in the memory.

Wenn ein Video-Recorder oder -Printer an die Ausgänge Acc1 oder Acc2 angeschlossen ist, können bestimmte Funktionen durch Drücken der Funktionstasten gesteuert werden. Bei einem Video-Printer kann mit einen Tastendruck ein Bild gespeichert und ausgedruckt werden. Bei Verwendung eines Video-Recorders dient die Taste zum Wechsel zwischen Pause und Aufzeichnen des Originalbildes (verwendbare Modelle auf Anfrage). Durch die Wahl von „Acc1 Ind“ oder „Acc2 Ind“ kann zusätzlich ein Indikator programmiert werden, der die Aktivierung des entsprechenden Gerätes auf dem Monitor anzeigt. Die Meldung „Acc1“ erscheint, wenn die blaue Funktionstaste (1) gedrückt wurde. Hinweis: Diese Meldung kann individuell angepasst werden. Dazu die Tastenkombination [Alt] [a] auf dem Keyboard drücken (siehe unten). Nach Drücken der silbernen Funktionstaste (2) erscheint die Anzeige „REC“ für 2 Sekunden auf dem Monitor. If a video recorder or printer is connected to outputs Acc1 or Acc2, certain functions can be controlled by pressing the user control buttons. When using a printer, press the user control button once to capture and print the image. When using a VCR, press the button to alternately pause and record the live image (suitable models upon request). An accessory indicator is available by selecting “Acc1 Ind” or “Acc2 Ind”. When the user control button is pressed, an on-screen indicator will appear in the corner of the monitor screen. The message “Acc1” will appear when the blue button (1) is pressed. Note: This message can be individually customized. To do this, press the [Alt][a] buttons on the keyboard (see below). “REC” will appear on the monitor for 2 seconds when the silver button (2) is pressed. This message is intended to show when the VCR is paused or recording, therefore it is recommended that the Acc2 output be used for VCRs.

Edit Indicator Messages To change an on-screen message Acc1 indicator message, press the [Alt][a] keys on the keyboard. Upon pressing the the [Alt][a] keys, an on-screen message will appear indicating the current display names. In order to edit the names, type in the desired change at the blinking cursor for “Blue Button Message” (i.e. printer, VCR). Then TAB down to the blinking cursor under the “Silver Button Message”, and edit as desired. When finished editing the display names, press [Alt][a] keys again to turn the on-screen message off.
