Maintenance and Repair KARL STORZ recommends that all equipment be checked and inspected once a year by KARL STORZ, or by an authorized agent. All services such as modifications, repairs, calibrations, and/or readjustments may only be performed by KARL STORZ or by an authorized agent. Caution: Repairs may only be performed by qualified technicians trained in electrical or electronic engineering, in compliance with the relevant occupational, safety and accident prevention regulations. Always unplug the equipment before performing any repairs. Safety Testing based on VDE0751, IEC60601-1 or UL-2601, whichever may apply, must be performed after servicing has been completed. By making the enclosed technical information available, KARL STORZ does not authorize any service or repair by unauthorized service personnel. Tampering with the instruments or equipment, or unauthorized service or repair of the unit nullifies and voids the warranty.
Reservation of Rights This documentation is the sole and exclusive property of KARL STORZ and may neither be copied nor passed on to third parties without the express written authorization and approval of KARL STORZ. The Endovision TELECAM® SL is a video camera for attaching to rigid and flexible endoscopes as well as to microscopes. Use of the unit in fields other than those indicated above is not allowed for safety reasons.

Das Gerät darf nur in medizinisch genutzten Räumen benutzt werden, die nach den national gültigen Normen installiert sind. Es ist nicht für den Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen bestimmt. Dies bedeutet u. a.: Bei Verwendung von leicht brennbaren und explosionsfähigen Inhalations-Anästhesiemitteln und deren Gemischen darf das Gerät nicht in der dargestellten Gefahrenzone betrieben werden. Solche Mittel sind zum Beispiel Ether pro narcosi (Diethylether, Cyclopropan) sowie brennbare, leicht verdampfbare Hautreinigungs- und Hautdesinfektionsmittel, die eine explosionsfähige Atmosphäre bilden können (z. B. Waschether, Ether petrolei). Das Gerät ist mit einer Steckvorrichtung für den Potentialausgleich ausgerüstet. Diese sollte nach Maßgabe der national gültigen Vorschriften angeschlossen werden.
The unit may only be used in medical rooms of which the installations conform to applicable national regulations. It is not intended for use in hazardous zones. This means, for example, that when using easily combustible and explosive inhalation anesthetics or mixtures thereof, the unit must not be operated inside the hazard zone shown in the diagram. Examples of such substances are: anesthetic ether (diethyl ether, cyclopropane) as well as combustible, volatile skin cleansers and skin disinfectants which may create an explosive atmosphere (e.g. detergent ether, petroleum ether). The unit is equipped with a connector for attaching a ground line. It should be connected up in accordance with national regulations.
El equipo sólo puede ser utilizado en espacios médicos si éstos han sido instalados de acuerdo con las normas nacionales de seguridad que estén vigentes. El equipo no está previsto para ser utilizado en zonas expuestas a posibles explosiones. Esto significa, entre otras cosas: Si se emplean productos anestésicos para inhalación fácilmente inflamables y explosivos o sus mezclas, no podrá utilizarse el equipo en las zonas calificadas como peligrosas por este motivo. Vor der Anwendung des Gerätes hat sich der Anwender von der Funktionssicherheit und dem ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des Gerätes zu überzeugen. Während der Behandlung unter Verwendung der Endovision TELECAM® SL muß der Patient mit der üblichen medizinischen Sorgfalt behandelt und beobachtet werden. Dazu gehört insbesondere die Sorge um sterile Applikationsbedingungen, sofern die Art des Eingriffs dies erfordert.
It is the user’s responsibility to make sure the unit is safe and operates properly before using the unit. During treatment with the TELECAM® SL the patient must be treated and kept under observation with the usual medical care. This includes keeping a check on the progress of treatment, as well as monitoring sterile application conditions where required by the type of intervention.
El usuario debe asegurarse de la seguridad de funcionamiento y el buen estado del aparato antes de cada aplicación. Durante el tratamiento con el empleo de la Endovisión TELECAM® SL, el paciente debe ser tratado y observado con los cuidados médicos habituales. Entnehmen Sie die Endovision TELECAM® SL und das Zubehör vorsichtig der Verpackung. Überprüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf eventuelle Beschädigungen. Sollte die Lieferung Anlaß zur Reklamation geben, so wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an den Hersteller oder Lieferanten. Wenn möglich, bewahren Sie die Originalverpackung auf, sie kann bei einem Transport des Gerätes nützlich sein.
Carefully unpack the Endovision TELECAM® SL and remove the unit and its accessories from their packaging. Check for missing items and evidence of shipping damage. File any complaints with the manufacturer or supplier immediately. If possible, retain the original packing materials for later use; these can come in handy if the unit has to be transported.
Extraer cuidadosamente la Endovisión TELECAM® SL y sus accesorios de la caja. Revisar si el envío está completo y comprobar posibles averías de transporte. En caso de reclamaciones, dirigirse inmediatamente al fabricante o al proveedor. Es recomendable guardar el embalaje original para volver a utilizarlo en un posible transporte posterior del equipo.

Place the CCU on a level surface. Make sure there is sufficient distance on all sides to other instruments (especially radiofrequency surgical equipment) and objects. Before plugging in the unit, make sure that the voltage on the nameplate corresponds to the voltage of the local power line.

Wenn Zusatzgeräte wie z. B. ein Video-Recorder oder -Printer vom Kamerakopf oder Keyboard aus gesteuert werden sollen, so ist der Anschluß für die Fernbedienung am Zusatzgerät (Remote) mit den Buchsen Acc1 und/oder Acc2 an der Kamera-Kontrolleinheit zu verbinden (verwendbare Modelle auf Anfrage). Es wird empfohlen, zur Steuerung des VideoPrinters die Buchse Acc1 und für den -Recorder die Buchse Acc2 zu verwenden (siehe S. 28: „Hinweise zum Anschluß von Zusatzgeräten“).
If peripheral units such as a video recorder or printer are to be remotely controlled via camera or keyboard, the terminal for peripheral equipment remote control (Remote) must be connected up to sockets Acc1 and/or Acc2 on the camera control unit (suitable models upon request). It is recommended that the Acc1 output be used to control the video printer, and the Acc2 output be used to control the video recorder (see p. 28: “Connecting up peripheral units”).

Bei nicht korrekt abgeschlossenem Weißabgleich (zu wenig/zu viel Licht) erscheint die Anzeige „White balance fail – dark“ (Bildausschnitt ist zu dunkel) oder „White balance fail – bright“ (Bildausschnitt ist zu hell). Die Anzeige „White balance failed“ erscheint, wenn die Farbtemperatur den Weißabgleichsbereich übersteigt. In diesem Fall den Abstand zwischen Endoskop und weißer Fläche vergrößern oder verringern und den Weißabgleich erneut durchführen.
If white balancing has not been performed correctly (too little or too much light) the message “White balance fail – dark” (field of view is too dark) or “White balance fail – bright” (field of view is too bright) will appear. The message “White balance failed” will appear if the color temperature exceeds the white balance range. If the white balance function does fail, lengthen or shorten the distance between the endoscope and the white surface and perform the white balance adjustment again.
Si el balance del blanco no es efectuado correctamente (luz insuficiente/excesiva) aparece el mensaje «White balance fail – dark» (el encuadre es demasiado oscuro) o «White balance fail – bright» (el encuadre es demasiado claro). El mensaje «White balance failed» aparecerá cuando la temperatura del color sobrepasa el margen de balance del blanco. Note: The values of the last white balance remain stored even after the camera control unit has been switched off. When the camera is next used a new white balance only has to be performed if a light source with a different color temperature is used or if a light cable or endoscope with different diameter is used.

(TELECAM® SL ab Seriennummer P005770) Hinweis: Dieser Modus unterstützt stroboskopische Anwendungen, bei denen 2 Lichtquellen intraoperativ eingesetzt werden. Hierzu muß die Funktionstaste 1 („blaue“ Funktionstaste) im Programmiermenü (siehe S. 21) entsprechend programmiert werden. Um den Weißabgleich für 2 Lichtquellen durchzuführen, wird zuerst die gewünschte Lichtquelle durch Drücken der blauen Funktionstaste ausgewählt. Es erscheint die Anzeige „Light 1 Setting“ oder „Light 2 Setting“ auf dem Monitor (je nach gewählter Lichtquelle). Die Funktionstaste 2 (silberne Funktionstaste) drücken, um den Weißabgleich für die gewählte Lichtquelle durchzuführen. Er erscheint die Anzeige „White Balancing Light 1 Setting“ oder „White Balancing Light 2 Setting“ auf dem Monitor (je nach gewählter Lichtquelle). Beide Weißabgleichswerte werden gespeichert.
(TELECAM® SL as of serial number P005770) Note: This new mode was developed to support stroboscopy needs where two light sources are used intraoperatively. Therefore the function key 1 (blue button) had to be programmed appropriate (see page 21). In order to white balance the two light sources , first select the desired light source by pressing Button 1. An on-screen message will appear stating “Light 1 Setting” (or “Light 2 Setting” depending upon the light source selcted via Button 1). Then press Button 2 to perform the white balance operation for the selected light source. Upon pressing Button 2, an on-screen message will appear stating “White Balancing Light 1 Setting” (or “White Balancing Light 2 Setting” depending upon the light source selected via Button 1). Both white balance settings will be stored in memory.

Um in den Programmiermodus zu gelangen, entweder beide Funktionstasten am Kamerakopf gleichzeitig drücken oder die Tastenkombination [Alt] [F5] am optional erhältlichen Keyboard drücken. Auf dem Monitor erscheint ein Auswahlmenü. Hinweis: Bei TELECAM® SL-Systemen ohne integriertes digitales Bildprozesssor-Modul ist statt der Funktion „Enhancement“ (Enhance) die Funktion „Detail“ anwählbar.
To call up the programming mode, either press both control buttons on the camera head simultaneously, or press the [Alt] and [F5] keys on the optional keyboard simultaneously. A selection menu will appear on the monitor. Note: For TELECAM® SL systems without the integrated digital image processing module, the “Detail” function can be selected instead of the “Enhancement” (Enhance) function.
A fin de activar el modo de programación, habrán de oprimirse simultáneamente ambas teclas de control del usuario en el cabezal de la cámara o presionando al mismo tiempo las teclas [Alt] y [F5] del teclado opcional. En el monitor aparece un menú de selección. Nota: En el caso de sistemas TELECAM® SL sin módulo digital para procesamiento de imágenes integrado, es posible seleccionar la función «Detalle» en lugar de la función «Aumento» (Enhance).
In der linken Spalte sind die beiden Funktionstasten (Blue Btn/Silver Btn) aufgeführt; in der rechten Spalte sind die Funktionen aufgeführt, die den Bedienungstasten zugeordnet werden können. Blaue Funktionstaste (Funktionstaste 1) (Blue Btn) im linken Menüfeld anwählen: Dazu blaue Funktionstaste (1) am Kamerakopf oder Tabulatortaste des Keyboards drücken, bis die Eintragung „Blue Btn“ von einer Doppellinie umgeben, d. h. aktiviert ist.
In the left-hand column the two control buttons (Blue Btn/Silver Btn) are shown; the right-hand column shows the functions which can be assigned to the user control buttons. Select the blue user control button (1) (Blue Btn) in the left-hand section of the menu: to do this press the blue user control button (1) on the camera head or the TAB key on the keyboard until the entry “Blue Btn” is surrounded by a double line, i.e. until it is activated.
En la columna de la izquierda se muestran las dos teclas de control (Blue Btn/Silver Btn). La columna de la derecha muestra las funciones que pueden ser asignadas a las teclas de control. Seleccione la tecla azul (1) (Blue Btn) en la sección izquierda del menú: para hacerlo, presione la tecla azul (1) en el cabezal de la cámara o la tecla TAB del teclado hasta que la entrada «Blue Btn» esté rodeada por una doble línea, es decir, hasta que esté activada.
Hinweis: Die Symbole „왕“ bzw. „왓“ zeigen an, daß noch Menüpunkte bzw. Funktionen vorhanden sind, die erst beim Durchlaufen („Scrollen“) der Liste zu sehen sind.
Note: The symbols “왕” or “왓” indicate that there are hidden boxes. They can be made visible by scrolling down the list.
Nota: Los símbolos «왕» ó «왓» indican que existen opciones de menú o ajustes ocultos que pueden ser visualizados al efectuar un recorrido de la lista («Scrollen»).
Anschließend in der rechten Spalte mit dem Cursor die Funktion markieren, die der blauen Funktionstaste zugeordnet werden soll. Der Cursor läßt sich durch wiederholtes Drücken der silbernen Funktionstaste (Funktionstaste 2) oder der Pfeiltasten des Keyboards an die gewünschte Stelle bewegen. Die jeweils angewählte Funktion erscheint auch in der linken Spalte, in Klammern unter dem Eintrag „Blue Btn“.
Then, using the cursor in the right-hand column, mark the function which is to be assigned to the blue user control button (1). This is performed by repeatedly pressing the silver user control button (2) or the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the cursor to the required position. The function selected also appears in the left-hand column, in parentheses below the “Blue Btn” entry.
Luego, utilizando el cursor en la columna de la derecha, marque la función que será asignada a la tecla azul de control. Esto se lleva a cabo presionando repetidamente la tecla plateada (2) de control o las teclas de flechas en el teclado para mover el cursor a la posición requerida. La función seleccionada también aparece en la columna de la izquierda, entre paréntesis bajo la entrada «Blue Btn».
